Bottlenose Brewing is the latest to create craft beer in Jacksonville, Fla. It opened its doors to the public in the spring of 2017. While in the process of receiving all of the necessary brewing equipment, Bottlenose has used their wall of fifty taps to host different Florida craft beers. This has drawn in craft beer enthusiasts, bringing about excitement for Bottlenose to begin brewing their own beer. Much to locals’ delight, the brewing equipment has arrived and the time has come for Bottlenose to begin the brewing process.

Chas Nemecek, head brewer, enthusiastically discusses the steps for brewing beer and what the future holds for Bottlenose.

“We hope to have Bottlenose beer available by November,” said Chas Nemecek, head brewer of Bottlenose. Nemecek anticipates several different styles for the initial lineup, including an IPA, a lager, a sour, and a festbier as part of Oktoberfest. “Grain to glass typically takes two weeks for ales and about a month for lagers.”

With fifty taps, Bottlenose Brewing will still offer beer from other Florida craft breweries. Bottlenose also has a kitchen, offering items that pair perfectly with beer such as beer bratwurst and more unique items such as chicken and waffles.

From inside the bar the beer vats can be seen, creating the atmosphere of a true brewery. Customers can watch

sporting events on one of the many flat screen televisions and with a dog friendly patio, customers can even enjoy their beer alongside their furry friend. All of these elements make it clear why locals are happy to have Bottlenose Brewing as a new addition to the neighborhood.

The anticipation of Bottlenose beginning the creation of their own beer begs the question: will there be any distribution? The answer is not any time soon. So, craft beer enthusiasts, grab a friend or a dog and go see what Bottlenose has brewing this month. For information on all current beer and food offerings visit their website.
